What Personal Data Gets Deleted
When you delete a chat from your list:
- Removed from Your View: The chat disappears from your chat list
- Server Status: Chat and messages remain on the server (visible to other participants)
- Your Access: You can no longer see or access this chat
When you delete your account, the following personal data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from the server:
- Account Information: Email address, user ID, registration date
- Profile Data: Age, gender, preferences, bio information
- Chat Data: All your messages and conversation history with other users
- Match Data: Your match preferences and search history
- Social Data: Your blocked users list and reported users
- Reports Data: Your moderation reports and appeal submissions
- Authentication: Password and all authentication credentials
Important Note - Difference Between Chat Deletion and Account Deletion
Understanding the Two Types of Deletion:
- Delete a Chat from List: Removes the chat from your view only. Chat and messages remain on server if other participants exist. This is a local removal for your account.
- Delete Your Account: Permanently deletes all your messages, chats, and account data from the server immediately. Other users will no longer see your messages in their chats. This is a complete server-side deletion.
Key Difference: Chat deletion hides content from you, while account deletion removes your data from the server permanently. Account deletion is irreversible.
What Does NOT Get Deleted
The following data will be retained for legal compliance:
- Analytics Data: Anonymized aggregate statistics and usage patterns (no personal identifiers)
- Legal Records: Compliance records if required by law or regulation
- Backup Retention: Backup data may be retained for up to 30 days for system recovery purposes
- Account deletion is PERMANENT and cannot be undone
- You will lose access to all your chats and conversations
- You will need to create a new account if you want to use PallyMatch again
- This action cannot be reversed
